About RHI

In today’s world, when someone wants answers to questions about life, relationships, or sex, where do they go for answers? The most common sources for answers younger adults turn to are their peers and search engines such as Google. Younger generations no longer need help getting information, but they do need guidance and help when identifying trustworthy sources and interpreting the information they find.

While the advice and answers received from peers may be plentiful, they are often unhelpful and lacking in wisdom. Answers from google, related to things like sex, frequently come with explicit images and videos which are much more than unhelpful! Worse yet, once searched for, search engines will continue to offer more of the same kind of content and images, whether that is what anyone is looking for or expecting. This is simply how the world of technology, marketing, and sales works today.

And yet, what if caring adults were available, interested, willing, and equipped to initiate conversations that would help these younger generations discover answers to some of life’s most important questions with wisdom from God’s Word? When there are Biblical answers, we have the obligation and privilege to offer them or better yet, help others discover answers from God’s Word themselves.

Reflect His Image in Relationships (RHI) is written as five 75-90-minute sessions. It is recommended for groups of up to 25 single adult or young adult participants (of at least high school age) led by a facilitator/discussion leader. It is well suited for use in homes, churches, Christian schools, home school co-ops, pregnancy care centers, neighborhoods, etc. by parents, youth workers, teachers, counselors, mentors, small group leaders, and friends.

Reflect His Image in Relationships is not legalistic in its approach and is not intended to be used to goad someone into righteous behavior. The five lessons are not intended to be ‘taught’ by a teacher. Rather participant learning is facilitated by a discussion leader with the expectation that the facilitator/discussion leader will be able to effectively lead and encourage meaningful and necessary discussion, engagement, and participation by following the directions provided in the Leader’s Guide.

The RHI Leader Guide includes tips and directions for prompting and facilitating participation and interaction. Rationale is provided for why and when the leader should at times press for an answer from each participant as well as the intent behind the utilization of various discussion prompts and techniques. Individuals with more than 100 years of combined experience leading discussion groups and facilitating interactive learning have participated in writing this curriculum.
